Alani Surf was born out of a simple want: to keep people connected to the ocean, to each other, and to the stories along the way.

It started in 2013 as Surfr App, a surf log and spot app for remembering time on the water. It caught on: Surfr App broke into the top 50 sports apps on the App Store and reached tens of thousands of surfers. Then, like a lot of good swells, it ran out of runway. What it taught us: what surfers will and won't share, and what they actually need around a break.

Alani Surf is the comeback. A private-by-default session log is still at the heart of it. Around it now: conditions that learn your good days, your Lineup, and the world around every break: coffee, stays, shops, stoke. The name is new. The stoke isn't.

The same rules that work in the water should work here.

1. Keep some things sacred. Not everything needs to be shared. Some things are better discovered, earned, or kept between friends.
2. Share it your way. A session, a photo, a favorite café, a place to stay. Share what you want, with who you want.
3. Good finds travel. A great board shop. The coffee spot before dawn. Somewhere to crash. Pass along the places worth knowing.
4. Call it like it is. Good waves. Good food. Good people. No hype. Just honest recommendations from people who’ve been there.
5. Stoke can’t be bought. Sponsored is always labeled. What people genuinely love still comes first.
6. Leave it better. Repair before replace. Respect the places you visit. Support the people who make them special.
